There is no temple without a foundation

We like to play the “before and after” game – comparing people as they were in the past, what they were taught, who shaped their morals, values and worldviews, and what they are today – adults, businessmen, LinkedIn heroes, or cowards who don’t pick up the phone and hide behind silence as if they won’t be found. There is no temple without a foundation, you know. But the foundation can remain empty, overgrown with weeds and faded ideals, waiting for something that may never come – humanity.

You can fool yourself into thinking you’ve “woken up”, became a non-conformist because you grew a beard down to your navel and wear old shoes to a business meeting. Or, in your modern “rebellion”, you’ve started engaging in spiritual capitalism and selling success tips on Instagram. But the truth is, you haven’t gone any deeper than that. A superficial makeover doesn’t erase an inner flaw.

And now, the real question: what happened in the upbringing of these characters who today play high-caliber guys, but don’t know how to pay the bill? Not only do they not pay it, but they disappear from the radar – they “ghost” the invoice as if it were an ex lover. Phone? Dead. E-mail? Unknown sender. A reckoning of conscience? Undelivered.

A few years ago we wrote the book “Disaster – Diagnosis of Modern Business”. And guess what – nothing has changed. Because the problem is not in the invoice. The problem is in the lack of account with themselves. Who washed away their courage, responsibility, upbringing and minimum human decency so that they feel like they have succeeded by avoiding the basics? When exactly did the short circuit between face and ambition occur? Maybe they no longer wash their faces, but they do not clear their conscience either.

p.s. Among the symptoms in our book “Disaster – Diagnosis of Modern Business”, take a look at the favorite home-made ‘sport’ – non-payment of bills. Some have been practicing it for years, and the medals are counted in the backlog!

We do not praise the book because it is ours (although it is brilliant), but because it is a satirical cure for the chronic ailments of the business world: from an allergy to responsibility to moral disorders. The diagnoses are ruthless, the therapies are honest, and the side effects include laughter and the possible cessation of ghosting invoices.

Get your copy – not for the shelf, but for a smile. And that’s no small feat these days.
