Valuable donation of Fire Isolator Concept to City of Krk firefighters
On August 7, 2024, a momentous event unfolded at the Punat Marina on Krk Island. As Crocon d.o.o., a trusted and long-standing safety solutions provider, we had the honor of participating in a pivotal step toward improving safety measures for electric vehicles (EVs) on the island.
During this occasion, valuable firefighting equipment was handed over by Marina Punat representatives to the firefighters of the JVP (Fire Department) of the City of Krk. The handover ceremony involved key representatives, including Mario Wagner (Director of the Punat Shipyard), Renata Marević (Director of Marina Punat), and Marijan Topolovec (Director of the Marina Punat Group). Commander Goran Grubišić accepted the equipment on behalf of the JVP.
The highlight of the event was a live demonstration showcasing the use of a specialized fire blanket designed specifically for electric vehicle fires. These fires pose unique challenges due to the high temperatures generated by lithium batteries (exceeding 1100 degrees Celsius) and the absence of oxygen. Our partner, T-ISS from the Netherlands, produces the Fire Isolator EVcar Fire-Fighting accessory. This remarkable fire blanket measures 9 x 6 meters, consists of silicon oxide fibers, and can withstand temperatures up to 1600 degrees Celsius for an impressive 48 hours. Additionally, the donation included aerosol units for extinguishing and cooling fires.
Furthermore, a separate fire blanket, measuring 2 meters x 2 meters, is dedicated to extinguishing chimney fires.
We extend our sincere thanks to all participants, especially the brave firefighters, for their unwavering courage and commitment. Their dedication ensures safety in critical situations, and we deeply appreciate their service.
